Keep Up Grassroots Efforts

It may be August recess, but that doesn’t mean members of Congress are returning to their home states and districts to play in sandboxes. Most members will capitalize on their time at home by catching up with their constituents. With so many important insurance issues now before Congress, it’s critical that independent agents make their voices heard. August is the perfect time to reach out to senators and representatives.

Not sure how to start your grassroots efforts? It’s now even easier to make the grassroots connection because of updates to the Big “I” grassroots Web site. Go to www.independentagent.com, log on as a member, click “government affairs” and then click “grassroots.” The site can help you contact your members of Congress and also includes several suggested grassroots activities.

The Accredited Advisor in Insurance Designation

It is with great excitement that the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia would like to announce our August schedule of courses for those interested in pursuing the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation (AAI). We will be holding the AAI 82 module (Multiple Lines Insurance Production) August 21st – 23rd at our office in Doraville.

Why should you consider AAI?

There are several compelling reasons:

- Qualifies for an exemption on the Counselors License exam
- Requires no annual “update” to maintain the designation
- Reduces CE hours needed annually to six
- Gives you a competitive edge

The AAI program is suited for both new and experienced producers, experienced CSRs, account executives, supervisors of producers, insurance company field representatives, and agency managers & principals. In addition, AAI is suitable for anyone interested in becoming a producer.

As part of the brochure, a registration form has been provided for your convenience. Please note that we strongly suggest that you register as soon as possible so that we may send you the course material well before the start of the classes. It will be incumbent upon you to familiarize yourself with the materials before attending the classes, as they will ultimately serve as a review to prepare you for the exams that will be administered at the end of each day, or before the start of the class on the following day, whichever you prefer. There will be three separate exams that cover the material in each respective class. They will be approximately 25-30 questions each. Please start preparing for the exams well before the first day of class by reviewing the material we send you. Feel free to bring any questions or concerns you have regarding the material to class so that we can discuss the issues that need further clarification.

Make this the year that you take the next step in building upon your knowledge of the insurance industry and start the process of attaining this well respected designation today!

TECHNOLOGY NEWS

Agents, Brokers, Carriers, Vendors Responding to ‘Real Time Campaign’

Call to Action

The campaign to increase implementation of real time and download technology-based workflows and independent agency-company interface applications is garnering significant attention and generating action industry-wide, campaign leaders report.

As defined by the campaign, real time is the ability to click on a button from a client file in an agency management system or comparative rater for immediate access to carrier information on that client. The transaction may be a quote, billing inquiry, claim inquiry/loss run, policy view, endorsement or a request for information. This approach provides a single workflow for servicing or quoting.

The campaign’s Web site— www.getrealtime.org —has been the key resource for industry parties to obtain information and to learn how to apply these workflows, says Jeff Yates, executive director of the Agents’ Council for Technology (ACT) and a campaign leader. Since going live a little more than two months ago, the campaign’s online resource center has generated about 17,000 distinct visits and 81,000 total hits.

New Market Access Program!!

FREE CE!!

Your association is constantly striving to bring you the best market opportunities available.  Our national association has partnered with Fireman’s Fund to bring members a new Affluent Homeowner’s Program.  Georgia has been selected as a pilot state for the program and we invite you to participate in this opportunity.  It will do much more than simply add a fantastic market to your product portfolio.

The program will pilot the use of a database called the Member Marketing Activity Center (MMAC).  This will be a warehouse of marketing materials and will enable agents to identify households in their area that have the risk characteristics that make them prime prospects for this affluent product.

MMAC will be accessible online.  In addition to identifying qualified prospects, the goal of MMAC will be to provide your agency with the necessary tools to market to these prospects and entice them to do business with your agency.  We feel that through this process, an agency can generate a large number of future referrals, which has proven to be significantly more effective than any other marketing process.

We invite you to attend one of our informational luncheons to be held around the state.  Representatives from Big “I” and Fireman’s Fund will be on hand to explain the program and to introduce MMAC, the affluent product and the programs process.

This is a great opportunity for your agency to participate in a pilot program that will expand nationally after its completion.  It is a unique opportunity that we are excited to pursue for our members.  Your association will work with you in every way possible to make this program a great resource for your agency.

Finally, this meeting will give a “sneak-peak” to a program that will offer real-time access to several personal lines markets.  Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the exciting market access programs we are putting together for you.
